    Snakes: Run for the hills!

    Here is a shot of a snake I took while at a zoo. I like how you can't see the head of the snake. It looks a bit compressed for the web however. I like the lines in the image some would say there is empty space in the top right but I think it adds to the scale of the snake and how it can easily blend into many different situations. Let me know what you think and if you know the kind of snake please let me know I would like to write about it.

    This is a very nice shot. It is quite unfortunate you did not get the head. But nice close up snake action with gorgeous colors

    its a copperhead, Agkistrodon contortrix. it is a good shot, the leaves add alot to it. and it looks very grainy on my screen (like you said probably jsut compressed for web)

    Thanks ! I really need to get like some field guides to take with me, The zoo has some boards you can read but they are mostly just the basics. I found that if i shoot digital I will take a photo of the boards so i know what animal it is after.
