I'm new to photography, so I'm just looking for some constructive criticism!

Confession: I am bad at landscapes.

My suggestion, however, would be that your nice photo could be improved by finding a viewpoint that has something in the foreground, the middle ground, and the background that leads your eye through it. Think of a winding road photo, for example. If you had pointed the camera more towards the ground here it might have worked better. As it is, it is a bit two dimensional.

Hi and welcome to critique, I think you need to look a bit more at the composition of this image. As is, it's a bit busy, with lots of different elements and I'm a bit unsure which is your point of interest ( POI ). In this scene I would have chosen to highlight the two larger pieces of wood in the lower right. This you could have done in camera by repositioning your self for the shot, or alternatively with editing software crop the image, keeping in mind the rule of thirds. If you haven't heard of the rule of thirds there is no shortage of explanations and tutorials on the net. understanding this will help with your image composition. If this was my shot I would also be temped to convert it to a black and white image as the light is a little harsh and contrasty. The main thing is you're out there shooting and posting, this is good .... :)
