Wow, that's a lot of sky. I've seen this work but I think you need more detail in the sky portion. I'm thinking like dark, rolling, foreboding cloud stuff (to go with your silhouette).

You could do a study by making the same shot but under different conditions. One happy one with puffy clouds ...

    What's a Loupe for anyway?

    Re: Trees

I like this...nice balance to it. I don't have a problem with the sky, in fact i prefer less detailed skies in these type of photos, although i think a series of similar photos under different conditions would be a worthwhile project...

One note however, would be to clone out the dust particles before postinjg if you can, as they can distract from the picture...your eye will always be drawn towards them. just a small little thing that can be fixed quite easily in photoshop or other such programme.

    cheers

mongo......whoa---that's a lotta sky. I like the transition from darkness to light. It makes the picture work.

I'm not sure it works on this scale. It might be pretty good printed large. Cropping it down to about square is something you could try for a smaller print.

    Re: Trees

A decent minimalist piece that is at once recognizable and at the same time disconcerting - not a bad thing. We are taken into a skewed abstract through the mystery of the perspective - the relationships of size through placement and lack of information, leaving us with both the emptiness displayed as well as a certain satisfaction of not needing to know any more.

Enjoyable. The type of image one might see framed and hanging on a wall in a room with modernist furniture.
