    I like the idea but if the tattos are the subject matter, I would blow up the image and crop tighter on the model. It's hard at this distance to appreciate the tatto's.

    same as pp and maybe a white background. I find the black distracting.

    It works for me. After looking at it for several seconds, I realized I had looked at it for several seconds and how much my eye had gone from there to there.
    Maybe the tittle is misleading but I didn't think much about it after opening the photo.

    I’m not bothered by the black background or the tattoo’s not being the emphasis. I may be off base on this but I do struggle with his facial expression and it’s relation to the viewer. His eyes are not fixed on anything and it gives the appearance that he does not want to be photographed. Just my thoughts.
