Very sharp. The background adds to the shot. Good composition also.

Very, very nice. I love the background effect, and how the foreground is almost completely a silhouette except for the transluscent (spelling?) wings and the faint glow of the setting sun on the insect's body. Very nice composition to boot.

    Re: Tranquility

Very Nice Loupey. Wish this were mine.

While the color may be exactly as you saw it at sunset, I like a color balance adjustment that moves the reflected sky away from yellow (kinda greenish yellow on my monitor) towards blue tones. The auto color in my PS does a pretty good job of it.
The bluer tone of the sky provides a color complimentary to the orange wings of the subject and heightens the contrast. While it may no longer be a tranquil sunset photo, I think it's worth a look.
You nailed the composition in this shot.

GB, thanks for your time and thoughts.

charm87, thank you for "hearing" precisely what I had hoped I was communicating

Chunk, I appreciate your take on this very much. I will try some of the points you made and see how it looks. I admit that I don't often stray too far from the colors that I thought I remembered seeing in my shots. Thanks for the reminder

Beautiful image. The composition and background are perfect and the lighting makes the image. Awesome. I wouldn't change a thing.

    Loupey C. Bugman,

This is a jewel! What a beautiful and exquisite image. I haven't even bothered to read the other gaspings yet for fear I am repetitve, but, brilliant work! I love the color of the dragonfly, and it's so sharp and crisp! Was this your extension tubes again? Man I got to look into that! Thanks for sharing this one. I'm just going to go look at it for a while now.

    Tah!

CF, Liz, and CL - Wow, thanks a bunches for such nice words! Really appreciate it

Just trying to bring a little bug in our life. Methinks I should have been an entomologist

CL, this one was with a teleconverter. But I interchange extension tubes and teleconverters as often as one might try out shoes in a department store.
