Could be interesting to add a poll to this post, if I had to pick, I would take the original.

Well, the effect certainly looks like impressionism. I think the overall composition is too tight around the paper dispensers. Some better lighting on them as well will help pull them out nicely.

Somehow... I do not think of newspaper machines as good subjects for a French Impressionist painting... so, I vote for the original...

GB, I like it!! The first one I mean. I've been tinkering with stuff like this for a while and haven't been able to get it right. At least, so I've been told. Have you tried it on a softer subject (flowers, a child, a garden, etc)?

You did a great job but it may just be the subject matter.

Thanks for commenting everyone. Somehow, I associate the papers with Paris France, but I'm not sure why.. La Media. I was there a couple times, perhaps I saw a lot of paper machines... Don't remember exactly.

D, nice to see you're back! Where'd you go? I'll try your flower idea. -GB

    Re: Papers...

I as well like #2 except for the traffic signal in the background. #1 does away with it well. I think the effect is just too strong on the paper boxes.
