    Try getting your subject in it's entirety. The snake is cut off and stuck in the corner, the cactus is bullseyed and takes away the focus, which is very distracting. Also, try adjusting the lighting settings on your digital camera, or fix them on the computer afterwards. The yellow tone makes it look like a badly exposed family Christmas picture.

    I would agree that this has many faults. You have the main focus here being the cactus plant and the left side of the terrarium, with the Rattler being just a side show. Try shooting this again from a higher view point and focus most of your frame on the snake, but do not center it . Also try using the Tungsten setting on the white balance of your digicam as that may help eliminate the orange cast
