    I like the variety of trees in this. It's a pretty scene. But it looks a wee bit contrasty. And perhaps it simply has too much going on for the eye. My eyes keep wandering all over the place and if I try to settle on the pine tree, something is not allowing my eye to rest there. Maybe it's the tree behind the pine? I'm not sure.

    I agree with D. I am looking for the focus of the picture and can't find one. Move in closer or out a lot farther and open up the wide angle.

    I plead guilty to oversaturating a tad. Composition hasn't always been my strong suit, and I constantly have to struggle to think about what I want out of a photo. I've been shooting baseball, where the action is the centerpiece. In the off-season this is an opportunity to expand my skills a bit. Thanks both of you.

    Pretty much what other people have said, though if your looking for a nice place to start for composition, it looks like there is a post or something on the right that might be fun to shoot.

    Yes, very nice variety of trees. I probably would have backed out a bit and gotten a little more space negative around them (if there was any), but still nice. There might be something missing with the shot - some color, a more graduated blue in the sky, etc. Would have really been nice with a deer in there somewhere -- too bad they're not very cooperative models!

    I like GBs suggestions, but given that you don't have that to work with this time, I think you're crop is great!
