    too blown out?
She hit the end of the shade, and I didn't adjust the settings to compensate. I kinda like it, but am not 100% sure.

    thanks

I think it is very beautiful, the subject matter helps to make it work, there is a dream-like quality to this, sure you could do some selective burning but I really think it is a delicate representation of a very delicate little person!

    Thanks for sharing

I agree with Herriot, it adds a nice quality to the shot. Because she had just stepped into a little shade there is still good contrast on your young subject. I wouldn't change a thing.

Thanks guys. Sending it to print. The more I look at it, the more I like it.

    Thanks

The white bg does not hurt the image but gives a dreamy, almost heavenly feel to the scene. I think it would have helped the image if there were just something more readily identified in the bg, such as a road with the white light or a meadow , or stream etc.,

I agree. In this case it adds rather than detractiong from the image. It looks intentional. I would have claimed it...:p

    Thanks.

She's in front of a fountain, which was by far more interesting than me with my camera.

    IMHO yes indeed...
Sorry to mess with you, Adina. Couldn't help but notice you're getting nothing but support for your shot.

Still (and keep on mind that I'm a huge fan of high-key images), there are times when basic exposure principles need to be adhered to.

To me, this shot simply looks overexposed. Not just a little, but a lot. Truth is, I have to resist the temptation to squint when I look at it. :)

Sure, it's a very cute pic subject and scene-wise, but I think it would be a much better image if it was properly exposed and there was more overall detail...

Yeah, I was way overexposed. I pulled the curves way down in ps, and played with the levels a bit. I'm going to print it and see how I like it on paper, instead of the monitor.

I've got what I need otherwise, but thought this one looked interesting enough to play with.

    Thanks!
