    Red sky

I shot this about two weeks ago as the sun was going down.

    Greg,

This is a sweet shot. It looks surreal, has it been manipulated?

I like the color and the fact that the bird has absolutely no detail. Nice silhouette.

The only suggestion I might have is to move the bird off center a little more by maybe cropping a little of the left side.

    Hello Greg,

I absolutely love the silhouette but the color of the sky is so even that it doesn't look natural (which is not necessarily a bad thing, the mood created is truly interesting).

I must also ask if it was manipulated or not!

    regards

It looks very nice... I would indeed crop slightly on the left side to off-center the bird and post.

The only problem which I can see with this pic is the attitude of the bird. Because there is no details in the silhouette, my brain has difficulties to interpret the position of the bird: do we see its head from its right profile of left... In another words, which wing is the farthest from the camera: the top wing or the lower wing: i just don't know, and as a result it has become a bit of a tease.

Sorry if I cannot express myself more clearly!

    Thanks for the post!

    Cheers,

    Steph.

    Re: Red sky

This image was manipulated some. The original does have some details of the bird so I darkened it some to completely remove the details. For me the picture was much more powerful with no bird details.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

The head is on top, feet below standing on the post. The tail is on the lower right and the wings are on the upper right and left.
