This photo was shot while we were having an outdoor church service. I thought it was sweet but I would like advice on how I could have made the photo better
.
It is a nice, natural shot.
To make it go to the next step, perhaps try getting one or both faces involved.
In this shot, you can see that there is a curved line from the girls red shorts through her head into the boys face which is looking at....dirt. This is the line that ones eyes follow. It is an interesting line, but their is no "prize" at the end.
If we saw the girls face, for instance, we might get a different story.
Thats just my two cents worth.
More of the boys face would have helped quite a bit. A little fill flash maybe. Would have been nice to have the littel girl's face, but given the scene I don't know if that would have been possible.
First off welcome to PR. I think it is cropped to tight on the left and right. More shade would have also helped with the lighting. Study up on the Rule of Thirds and thanks for joining us.
I am like Barney Fife, I have a gun but Andy makes me keep the bullet in my pocket..
It's a little too close to her on the left, but acceptable. If you cropped this then I would back it off a little, add a little negative space. I love the highs/lows of the sun. I can't really see what they're playing with which is kind of a downer, but I think you caught a nice moment and did it with decent sharpness.
Welcome to the forums too.
