    Thank God for Nets

Heh...hubby and I took the girlies to the circus yesterday, and I had some fun trying to get decent photos with the lighting. Eesh! But I did get a few that I liked...this one is actually the trapeze artist dropping down on purpose...but of course, you can't tell that from this!

P.S. I'm attaching the second one, because it's my other trapeze shot...I put the rest on this blog: http://julsophcircus.blogspot.com/

    Re: Thank God for Nets

The first one has the net cutting the photo in half. The trapeze artist within the net is too far at the bottom for me taste. Maybe if I was able to see the picture as a whole printer and framed on a wall.

The bottom photo loses me and his face is in a terrible place for this type photo.

I looked at your blog and I wish you posted the more colorful shots that made me feel like I was at the circus. You had other shots that like more than the ones you posted here.

I'm sure it was challenging to even take these shots. I have yet to even come close.

    Emily,

Unfortunately, neither of these do much for me. As Manacsa pointed out, the first one seems to include too much of the crowd and the trapeze artist is too "hidden" for my liking. The shot also is a tad soft too. The second one just appears busy and candid for me. I know lighting can be tough, but I think you have some great shots (and much better IMO), in the blog you posted.

Good try and keep on shooting,

    Jared

I think you must have been constrained by the seating you were assigned by the ticket office, bearing this in mind I think that you have done quite a good job on the first image and the doftness doesn't bother me that much. The ropes cutting the image horizontally are a bit distracting but overall I like the image. Don't have much to add on the second one.

    Thanks for sharing

Manacsa, Jared & Herriot...thanks so much for taking the time to not only give thoughts on these, but to look on my blog too. I really appreciate the feedback.
