    Don,

I like Walking Down A Strange Street. I would have cloned out the pole (?) on the right side below the house/to the right of the fire hydrant. Otherwise, a nice shot. The red of the fire hydrant is a good touch. I see a tinge of red/pink in the snow, however. Do you know what or why that is?

I'm with CF, the middle image works well. I like your horizon placement and I think you got the snow exposure correct. The red is no big deal to me one way or the other.

The others are too dark. In the top image the snow is grey instead of white and the bottom image the detail is lost in the bushes.
    No, I DON'T need that.

Thanks for looking guys. I created monochrome by desaturating a color image. The fire hydrant red was added.

Don I really like the last one. The distant trees have a slight blur which adds a lot. Also the contrasting difference from the Evergreens to the others is very nice. Nice shot.......

All I can say it looks COLD. And the photos look too dark on my monitor.

Thanks again guys. They look dark because that was the atmosphere I was trying to capture. If i lightened them or increased the contrast it ruined the feeling of the photo.

Each has its merit but I have to say I also like the second one.
The bleak, lonely landscape echoes how I feel sometimes and its also why I've never moved to Canada even though I seem to get along with Canadians quite well.

Aww come-on up. It is grim in the winter for sure unless you like cross country skiing. We spend a lot of time trying to cheer each other up.
