    Teapot Impressions

Canon A80, 1 sec shutter. Another of my experiments with slow shutter speeds.

I like it Drew, have been staring at this for a little while and think your experiment has paid off. There seems to be quite a lot of dark space on the image so perhaps you could look to that, only other point might be that the object to the left of the teapot doesn't really add all that much...perhaps it is just shadow? Puzzled now! Overall it's a nice experimental shot.

Herriot, thanks for commenting. I was wondering myself if the shadows would overwhelm the rest of the picture, as it is a pretty low key picture as is. The object on the left is a bunch of dried roses, which I was slightly disappointed about since they didn't come out. But, overall, I was satisfied with the way the picture turned out. This is my attempt at impressionism. Thanks.

I like this white-on-white display, Drew. I agree about the possible removal of the darker object...as I feel it takes away from the subtlety of the white canvas you've created.

    Re: Teapot Impressions

This grabs my eye. The dark object alongside the teapot is out of place.

The shape of the light coming off the teapot is what I find the most eye catching. The almost double exposure or image of the spout adds a final touch so its not just a blurry photo ;) .

The dark portion along the right side of the photo bothered me at first, but with the light along the top this evokes a painting or photo of something I'm going to have to see if I can remember. There's some compositional issues I'll try to comment on later. This one is growing on me.
