Tahoma sunset

The sunset was behind me. I spent a couple of hours with camera in one place on tripod and would take a shot every few seconds as the clouds changed. She was making her own weather as there were no other clouds in the sky. I like this one the best.
It is resized only. What do you think?

Frog, I like the scene and framing. The trees in the bottom area with the mountain coming up above the center left side. What I do not like is the position of the cloud in this. I would like to see the mountain peak outlined against the sky and the cloud over more to the right. The picture is too heavy on the left with everything hanging out there. I know you said you had not adjusted anything yet other than resizing and so this will look alot better once you make some level adjustments. Do you have any other shots with the clouds in different place?

Thankyou Gary. I see what you mean. The right side is rather empty. The clouds kept forming on the right but not enough to make a dif unless they were covering her. I'll try to find one that demonstrates that. To immediate right was not quite a cliff into a deep valley. This is the closest view I can get on this particular road but I know of other views and am constantly looking for views of her that aren't generally seen.

I agree with Gary that the left side is "heavy" and that it would have been a little stronger with the peek of the mountain centered. I also think a lot of detail that I can't see here would show up in a large print. Very nice Frog the colors a great and what a great view.

Here's an example with a wider view, remembering that I couldn't move right any further and left just put the trees in front of the mountain.

I think the first version is wonderfully dynamic. The color tinted by the sunset really makes it magic.

i really like the second one, but hate to ask to crop a bit out of the sky..

i love the foreground is there a chance of lightening it up a bit, there looks to be quite a bit to see. having just been to seattle and surrounds there is a kodak moment around every corner isn't there ? and sad to say i never made mt. ranier.

for the first one i understand the opinions but it is tough to get mother nature to cooperate isn't it ? the sunset colour though looks tremendous to me.

First one's the winner. No need for symmetry... the emptiness in the right gives the needed space to the complex left. The clouds almost seem to drift to the right. I personally like the warming filter (if you used one), if you didn't use one that must have been a perfect day for photography.

3 lions, I took over a hundred pics with the clouds forming and drifting constantly. Always formed on right and drifted left. This is not a usual tourist place for Rainier.

I'm hoping to get some lenticular clouds but you never know when they'll appear.
