Swans

I post these only because I liked the contrast between the overcast light / murky water, and the bright plummage of the Swan and its shape / reflection. What do you guys think? The only thing that was done to these was cropping in quite a bit. Shot at 60mm.

I'd say that I prefer the first one over the second because of the stronger contrast betwen the swan and water and also because of the water itself and the way light reflect on it. The colours seems fine to me, it looks quite natural. There is also a decent level of textures on the swan. I guess that I would like to see more of it but they seems very hard to expose. I suppose that you have captured enough informations to work them a little in post processing to render textures more strongly.

Good points all. One of the reasons I decided to post the first shot is because of the tree refelections. They almost make the water "rise up" around the neck of the Swan. Some cool symmetries in there although truthfully I didn't notice them when shooting. I just rattled off about 20 shots of the Swan as it swam about, figuring I might get a couple decent ones. Law of averages and all that... ;)

The first does have some nice contrast but I think I prefer the second because of the swirling water, the clear shadow of the swans neck and the pose. Nice pic.
