    Sunrise from the air

Finally getting around to PP'ing my vacation pictures and I found this little gem in my Hot Air Balloon ride shots. Taken from about 500 feet up as we flew over a large pond/small lake as the morning mist rose off the water.

I think you should consider croping out the Sun. It pulls your eyes away from the landscape and is distracting.

Too bad all the people who know how to run this country are busy running taxicabs or cutting hair.

But wouldn't that eliminate the subject since it is a sunrise? You can't really have a sunrise / sunset shot without the sun in tit..... can you?

I always figure that sunrise is the time of day. Some of my favorite sunrise pics are taken facing away from sun because of the beautiful colors in the west.

Now rising sun photos are a different matter...

I'd say leave the sun in.

    Good point Chunk,
I like the image, but the sun does pull me away from a very unusual perspective. You can stare at the sun from any altitude. Balloon rides are not every day.I have found that during early sunrise the lighting is what I call wunderlight.

Shooting the mist, pond with the sun behind you, maybe a shadow of the balloon on the ground. Now that's an Idea.
Thanks for posting this image.I have learned something here today.
    Thanks Chunk!

What the ? Looks like a Sci-Fi movie. I don't know what to make of this. The sun has its charms here. There's a lot of empty sky though. I wish the tree in the foreground wasn't clipped, or at least that much (actually, everything seems to be clipped).

Just wish there was something in the foreground to latch on to ... How bout a moon buggy?

Dawn Fire Mist - I like it, with the mighty orb just showing.
The colour and mist, with the light rays make the shot.
    Nice capture !

I like this. I like the fog, the sun and the yellow hue. Good work.
I don't want it, I just need it...to breath ...to feel ...to know I'm alive.
