Tom, I like what you caught here. I'm feeling though that I rather not have the chair in this scene or have all of it in. I would not say that it was "wrong" to have it included as it does seem to work, but just personally i feel it is too much. The suits on the wall of this old, dilapidated room is a great subject.

Tom. For what it worths, I like the extreme right of the frame where natural light is entering the second room and how you have caught that area at angle. On the other hand, I don't like the main room mainly because of the way your flash lit the scene. Unfortunatelly, I can't provide any real suggestion on the topic, I hardly ever use flash. I am sorry if my comment isn't especially helpful.

Tom - though I would recommend a slight crop off the top, I like your view into these two rooms and the "new" suits hanging in the old surroundings.

The colors really do it for me here. For some reason I feel like the suits are there for a funeral. I have no idea why that thought popped up, but it was the first I had. Almost like someone died in that house of some disease and it's back in the olden days.

Without the chair, i think it would be a stronger image. But, it works as it is.

    Hi Tom,
I like the title of the shot very much. The shot depicts an old house and one the rooms is very untidy. However, the owner has a few very nice suits. I can sense the guy is a very religious man. He always maintains his Sunday best in a good condition. The lighting from the outside means the path to God to me. This is a shot with a lot of contemplation.

Tom,,a difficult subject handled very well..I like the way my eyes lead into the next room..As Tuna mentioned a slight crop off the top would have been good...Also a bit more contrast would have helped give this image more impact..How does it work in mono??

Many thanks to you all and I take on board all the constructive crits here.
Gary; Good to hear from you again. I see where you are coming from with regard to the chair. When I was in this house I felt that I was trespassing (which I was) and a small bit nervous. Composing was very difficult as the room I was standing in was almost in complete darkness except for the light gain from the back kitchen. I did not want to interfere with anything in the house. But it would be pretty easy in this case to remove in PS. Been a while since you posted a photograph here?

How ya Seb: I actually relied totally on the camera's flash (not much good) to illuminate the dark room as I could see very little. I did some work on the room in PS also to improve things but without huge success. I also rarely use flash but it was essential for this.

Tuna; Yes a little off the top does improve things. Thanks for having a look.

Liz; This house is totally derelict and I did not feel too safe in there. All the roof had almost caved in and only a few ground floor ceilings intact. So to find the suits was very strange. More than likely they were worn only on funerals and weddings etc. Being in there gave me the feeling that it's occupants had left a few minutes before I arrived.

Yoyo; Thank you. I share your feelings and your reading of this.

Jurgen; Many thanks. To be honest mono on this one never occurred to me as I felt the colours within were too good to be true.

    Thanks again to everyone.
