    Sunday morning in the city

Got out early this morning to see what I could find, and managed a few keepers and a few that *might* make the cut. This one is heavily processed to make up for less than optimal focus. Is it working for anyone, or not really?

    Works well for me.

The softness doesn't bother me at all, you made a good decision with the sepia tinting and vignetting effect. Very "old-fashioned" looking. And, in the "old days" tack-sharpness was uncommon...

Composition looks OK. Perhaps see if you can give the shadows by the doors a slight boost?

Overall, I like it – keeper.

Looks like something found in an old photo album.......that's not a bad thing.
    I rather like it.

I like it. Interesting and cool surround. Was there any more keepers you would like to share?

    Jet,

I like the old TV screen look, but there also seems to be a frame around it & I'm not sure the two go together well (my opin, anyways).

About the image itself, the fellow is definitely the subject here, but I wish he wasn't leaning (not literally) more towards the center of the frame but was instead more at the 1/3rd inflection pt. I know the "rule" of thirds has been over-applied, but I think I would like the image better in this situ if he was. I also realize that the blur is part of the artistic expression depicting an old photo, but this one is so soft it is actually difficult to accept.

Hope this isn't too negative ..

The more I look at it, the more I agree on this point. I think you're right.

My conundrum here is if I move him more left, I lose the bar sign, which is problematic for the understanding of why all the cups are on the ground, and pretty much the whole premise of the shot (hanging out in front of the bar waiting for it to open, instead of hanging out in front of the church, waiting for it to open). I see what you are saying, and honestly agree, but don't see how I can pull it all together with what I have. Ideally, he would have been sitting on the other side of the door, and then everything would have been great.

If you check out the text above the photo, this was my original question. The whole reason for the antiquing was to try to mask the fact that I blew it on the focus. My camera had a nut loose behind the shutter button (me). It was low light, and I got just a bit of camera shake...

Not too negative at all, I need to know when a shot is too far gone to bring back, so I don't waste a ton of time on files that ain't worth saving! Thanks for the honest assessment, I really do appreciate it.
