Summer Sweets
I didn't actually eat any of these blackberries but I'm sure they're pretty darn good. I used to pick berries like this when I was a kid and put them on ice cream. Good stuff. Anyway, very bright but clear (no haze) day this afternoon. Shot these with some white billowy clouds overhead but not quite fully obscuring the sun.
Should probably go back at sunset with a 60mm micro and see what I get.

Hi Puck, my friendly neighbor!
I'm noticing a grey cast over the whole shot, esp the first. It's a bit dull. Might want to play with your settings in PS.
Make those berries pop! and make me want to reach into my monitor and pick them!

Thanks Kelly. Good suggestion. When I came back I noticed right away the blue-grey cast in the first shot. I think I forgot to work the curves on these the first time around. Just punched them up a bit and re-posted (so as not to load up the thread with multiple photos).

I just got a new monitor, and it looks OK to me.
Well, when I say new, I mean good as :)
I got a Mitsubishi DiamondPro from a friend who replaced all his monitors with LCD screens.
I can actually see shadow detail now !!

heh heh, now you make me look like I don't know what I'm talking about. :D But it's all good...
The first is now the second, btw...

I'm seeing the most grey in the yellow daisies. Were they that dull originally? Is it just because of the grey skies?
This pix was fun to work with. I learned something new (well, I triggered my memory of it) in Levels. :D
heh heh, I did the "edit" thing too, to avoid posting the pic again. :)

Hey PuckJunkey and Kellybean,
While I do understand Kelly's point here I wouldnt touch the second picture at all.
The first one could use a litlle more "pop" but it seems to me that the second picture is just fine the way it is. Of course the colours are not heavily saturated but it looks natural and I feel that trying to tweak this particular picture would weaken it. Just a personnal view obviously.
regards
Seb

Thanks Seb...
These would've also been aided by some golden light obviously.
