    the strong hold

    Took this picture at my local park and thought it was quite amazing what these two guys were able to accomplish

    wow, that's crazy! i've been looking at the picture for about five minutes and I still can't quite see how they are managing to balance lol.

    as for the photo itself-the only nitpicky thing I have with it is that there's a lot of distracting clutter in the background, but i'm sure there wasn't too much you could do about that, especially since it looks like this photo opp would be easy to miss!

    Without the background that would be great.
    It's all about balance.
    Look at their legs, equidistant from the arms.
    The one on top is levering the one underneath to the left, legs pulling him down on the left and he's lifting the torso of the one underneath around the pivot of his shoulders.
    It's all simple forces, moments, and pivots.
    But impressive even when you know how it's done.

    The real skill in this is how you get to the position while retaining your balance throughou the move.
