    Storm Clouds

I shot this during a Little League game Saturday. During the game a thunder storm skirted the ball park, and at one point I saw this unusal cloud formation with black, pink and white clouds. I shot some pics and the team in the field noticed and stopped to look at the clouds, then kids wandered out of the dugout to get a look. The game was halted for a couple of minutes to allow them to check it out, then started back up again without anything ever being said. I've never even attempted to shoot clouds or anything nature related (strictly sports) but I liked the look of this. Felt like I was looking at a volcano erupting through the lens.

Thanks, Don. I can tell you without hesitation that it was pure luck.

    Great capture.

I think it might benefit from some boost in color, maybe saturation. I'd be curious even to see what a Photoshop autocolor adjustment would do for it.

Was that lightning in the cloud or sun reflected through the top of the cloud? Either way, neat colors.

Thanks cyber. The unusual lighting was caused by the sun. There was lightning in the storm but not in that particular area of it.

Cyber...the auto color levels turned the pink a bit more orange. Here is a saturated version of the pic as you mentioned. It does make it more dramatic, but I generally prefer pics to look as natural as possible. This does make a better desktop background, though.

Yes, now very dramitic. Probably a bit too much saturation. I to do agree with keeping it natural but you mentioned pink in your description and I just wasn't seeing it in the original photo.

This would make a great desktop background and/or stock photo.

Thanks for sharing it with us.
