I really like the shot but the flaring light really is more a distraction than a help. Clone it and then level the dock. The colors are wonderful as the subject.

Great capture and colors don't care much for the light flare distraction and personally I would crop the sky to the very top of the roof on the building on the right side of the frame.

Liban - It has nice color and some interesting objects. I am not sure about the composition though, seems too bulky and not harmonious enough for Venice. There is also the slight issue of softness that probably occurred due to wind or whatever when you were exposing (I assume you used a tripod. Try using the self timer to start the exp. so not to jerk it when initially firing the shot).

It has alot to like about this. I like the wood pyles driving up into the sky like the steeples in the distance. The texture of the water is good. I am not crazy about the greenish cast to this and thing adding some blue or magenta to the balance would help that.
    It's a beatiful night scene.

I like the overall composition, perhaps a slight crop from the bottom. It's not a typical pretty night scene, but this one works for me.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. much appreciated.

Greg, The flare didn't really bother me before you mentioned it. Now i'm thinking it might be a bit distracting. I tried to hide as many lights as I possible could behind the structures.

Ray, Is Still your last name?? If it is, that's cool.

I like to give subjects a bit of a breathing area, that crop would i think make it a bit too tight even on the poles on teh left.

GB, Yeah, i didn't have a tripod that night but was using the ground and hence why the perspective is so low and the blurriness of the boats is because they were rocking with the gentle waves. I do use the self timer all the time for the night shots.

Gary, Yeah, i hadn't noticed the greenish tint till u said it. Adding the magenta looked much than the cyan.

Danic, I thought about the bottom crop, but prefered this one.

    Thanks!

On my monitor this looks a bit green all over. I would like the water to have a deeper darker colour. But it is a nice composition with great clarity.
