    A Sticky Snow
Does this have any potential? Does it need a stronger subject? All C&C most welcome. - TF

Yes, I think it needs a subject, but also ... needs more exposure !
Unless it really was grey snow.

    Completely agree!

The brightness needs a little bump up. Also, where is my eye supposed to rest on?

Next time, try including an obvious subject. (Deer, cat, large tree stump, etc.). I do like the "moody" look of this shot - and I'd say it is a keeper, but not something to frame and mount on a wall.

A little brightening is all that the image really needs (that can be fixed).:)

Better? Still no subject, but the snow is white. Eventually, I'll learn to see. - TF

I think it is now slightly too white. Something in between both shots - closer to the second - would be perfect.

A.M.D.A. - Sorry, but you got to it too fast. :-) I was editing it since I had picked the wrong one the first time. The one showing is between the first and the one you saw. - TF

    That's now MUCH better!

Also, I do the same - post & then edit for the next minute or so. However, I always make sure no one else is viewing the thread while I post!:D

How can you tell if someone is viewing? - TF

Snow is only supposed to be white in the daylight and for some reason, I'm liking the gray of the first one better. Makes it a late evening shot.
If you shot in raw format, I'd bump the blacks a little which will make the non snow parts of the pic stand out more.

I only have it in jpeg. It actually was shot on APS film a number of years ago with a Canon IX Lite. I had an APS cartridge scanner and saved most (all?) of my shots from that time. I picked this one out going through them. Consistent with my expertise at the time, it doesn't look much different than the first one in the original color. :-) - TF

Yes the second photo is way much much better... more contrast is good...
