Re: Few more shots of a friend.

As in the other thread, my opinion is that the last shot is the best of the bunch. Sometimes cutting off body parts enhances the composition, sometimes it doesn't I think this is the difference between the first shot and the last. In the last it works very well, in the first you'd have been much better off including her whole head. Second shot is OK but not particularly creative. Third is a great creative idea, but the execution is lacking, the doorframe in the reflection and the hard shadows really detract from this, but it is WELL worth re-staging if your model is agreeable. Forth shot would be much better if she didn't look TOTALLY disinterested. Her expression screams "oh god, when is this going to be over!" Fifth shot is nearly as good as the last one - very nice exposure, composition, pose and expression; it's only flaw is that the eyes seem to be slightly out of focus.

Jetrim did a better job of expressing what I think than I could. Except I don't think the the door frame is a problem in the third but do think whatever is at top right is.

Thanks you guys, (espec. Jetrim) EXCELLENT detailed critique. Much appreciated. I normally shoot macro insects and plants/nature...photographing "humans" is still relatively new to me.
