    Low And Slow

I took this last summer, and have been toying with the levels, saturation, etc. I think I've got it down ok, but what say you?

    Re: Low And Slow

Hey John, the photo is quite entertaining and reminds me of my time in Rhinebeck N.Y watching the great airshow they put on out there.
I think your color and levelsare fine although there may be a bit much Cyan in this. The tilt does not bother me but some might mention that the horizon could use a slight tweak to the left (CCW).
I would have liked to see the plane a little higher off the ground and into the sky to set it off, but i know your intent was to show how low it actually got to the ground.
A tighter crop might be fun.
    Good work, John.

I'll work on that cyan........the sky was a lighter shade of blue that day, and I oversaturated a bit. I do see the horizon's a smidge off. Another thing to correct. Thanks.

I think the plane just has to be above the tree line for this to be a really top end image.
    No, I DON'T need that.

    Re: Low And Slow

I'd like to see it cropped closer, check out my website and take a look at my airshow pictures and see if one of those give you an idea. I do have to say that it is your own judgment on most shots, along with being one of hardest things I've ever shot, but prob the most rewarding. (that and I didn't have a zoom past 55mm at the time I took mine).

    Re: Low And Slow

Thanks for the input Chris. It was my first attempt at an air show. I'm a volunteer at the Kalamazoo Aviation History Musuem, and have been able to do some shooting there. We took a volunteer trip to Dayton last October, and I was able to get in some other aviation shots. Here's what I have on my Flickr site:
