    Squirrelly

This is the first time I can remember photographing a squirrel. After I cropped it some and ran i through Neat Image, I notice something seems to have taken a bite out of him/her. A fight with a rival? A narrow escape from a bobcat?

What would you do to improve this photo?

Overall, I think this is a good photo, I feel bad that she/he is missing a chunk ! Good Composition, and the Squirrel is at an angle..... Only thing I would do is clone out the out of focus limb on the bottom right hand side....

Nice, and the battle scars add some interest. I've got a few squirrel shots as well. They are cool little animals. Extrtemely clever.

Not a bad shot, Clicker suggested the branch which i agree with. Maybe just an all around tighter crop. Good though.

Nice shot... I like the barely there angle. It's just enough to be noticable, but not blatant. As for the missing chunk, my guess would be a house cat.

" my guess would be a house cat."

    OR a TERRIER ;)

HAWKS hunt squirrels too, but this doesn't resemble a TYPICAL raptor wound.

experiment with adding more blur and lightening the darker colors of the background? this may allow the squirrel to be visually stronger (add more 'pop') in the compostion. maybe add a bit more saturation?

(my two siberian huskies have killed about 15 moles and one bird so far this summer. i stop them when i can! they do it just for fun. sad but true.)
