Looks like the kitty is waking up from a loooooooooooong hibernation! That sunlight looks painful here. The contrast is good, but I do wish there was a little more detail on the left side of his/her face. It would also have been great if the cat was looking at you (and the camera). The black is really black - looks neat. Good catch overall.
