Split Rock on Lake Superior
We just came back from vacationing in Minnesota, where I took several pictures of the Split Rock light house. I am thinking of printing this in 8x10 for framing, what do you think? Are the leaves in the foreground too much of a distraction? Should the water be more blue?

Well, the leaves are a bit distracting but definitely not a show stopper. Very saturated and that creates a powerful effect. It does lose a little detail in the shadow areas If you can bring that out a bit, I say print it!

I agree with GB1 - the leaves are a wee bit distracting, but not critically. Of the two sides I would be most inclined to clone out the leaves on the left - they look more out of focus than the others, at least on the size I can see it here. Even so, nicely done.

Well, I like your picture. As for me the leaves are not necessary here. It is going to be better without them. The water, I think, is very blue. In my opinion, it is going to be better if you'll make it less colorful. I'd recommend you to make whole image warmer; as for me, the photo has blue tint. Of course, all that is only my opinion. :)

I agree the leaves on the left could go. Maybe even a slight crop of the left side putting the light house more in that third. I also agree with Irina that at first the color looked a little off. But the more I look at it the more I like it. You might could play around with it some and see? Nice work and it should make a very good print.

In my view, the leaves on the right could stand to be cropped out, giving that side a cleaner look.

Overall I like this pic. What I think would be a minor improvement would have been a different angle. Maybe a bit more to your right and slightly turned more counter clockwise and a little lower angled slightly up to get more of the rock and put the lighthouse higher up in the left hand corner. I suppose you could crop for the same positioning, but the angle would have made it a bit more dramatic. Also, it looks like it could stand to be sharpened a bit.
