    the ruins

Hey guys, I am back. I have been quite busy over the past few weeks. I travelled in the canadian rockies and I just moved among others things.

I should have pictures of my journey to submit rather soon. Until then, here is a pic of some ruins taken few weeks ago (the same place as my "View on the river").

    regards

    Seb

    Welcome back, Seb.
I've bet you have lots of pics to share as soon as you get the time to sort it all out. Moving. . . .what a pain in the #$*. Hope it goes smooth for you.
i like this image. Looks like an art deco kinda thing, very unusual how you sighted this scene and then chose to frame it. I cannot find anything to critque about this as it is so unusual it stands alone in it's own creative element ( whatever that meant) I really like how the drab colors of the birds and wall and its texture contrast with the colorful green grass that we get a glimpse of through the opening, and the picnic benches. Nice shot. i like it.

I agree with Gary on this one tuff to find something to be critical of. I like the placement of the color through the window in the lower right. At first I thought that it should be more to the corner, but after playing with the crop decided that you got it right. Love your take on the world very nice percpective. It is so easy to pass up shots like this and not recognize their strength. Nice job, thanks for sharing.

Hey guys, thank you for your imput, I apologise to everyone for not commenting on others pictures after having posted mine but I still in the moving process and I have all kind of issue to deal with right now. I'll be "fully back" later this week end.

Gary: I wasnt sure how to deal with this image (in post processing). There was stricly no cropping performed here but I wasn't comfortable with the darker cast of the original. I decided to work levels. I am glad to hear that it works for you.

Elysian: Thank you for the kind words! I might go for a series on that location later this autumn.

OldTimer: Thank you for taking the time to analyse the photo and for playing with it. I went straight with my original framing without even trying to crop it but I am always curious to see/hear the take of the people here on my images.

    best regards to all

Very nice - nicely seen. At first, I didn't see the pigeons as they are a little dark and near the edge away from the focal point of the "window". But when I did see them, it was a pleasant surprise and made the photo a little more than it already was. Maybe a dodge and slight sharpening on each bird and a little added grain which would heighten the texture of the wall (and also add a little more contrast) would help, but not necessary. Well done, as is.

very solid picture. All the textures are great and I love the birds in it.
