    Desert Flower

San Diego is best known for its beaches. However, San Diego is also mountain peaks of 12,000 feet and vast arid desert. During early spring, after what little rain we get, the desert is awash in flowers. Here is a view of Anza-Borrego State Park, desert region of San Diego County.

The colours really pop in the foreground. Nice composition.

The sky and background seem a little muted by comparison. Was it intentional or just teh way it worked out?

I haven't anything else to say about the photo. It looks really good CF!

Thanks very much for leaving the comments. I was hoping for a few more than given the "flowers in desert" contrast. But, that is how it goes. They are fleeting, last only a few weeks and then gone due to intense heat throughout most of the year. Thanks again. I appreciate it.

Its pretty nice but would like to see it bigger.
I think if they are still around it would be worth while to make an early morning or evening trip when the light isn't so harsh.

    Thanks, Frog.

I would like to take this shot at either sunrise or sunset also. But, as the desert is an hour and a half away, unless I make the arrangements...., I appreciate the suggestion, however.
