And now for something completely different..

A train! Okay, it's just different for me...but still.

I took this today at the Alexandria station...the train was flying past us, which is obviously why the words and details on it aren't as clear...heh.

I love the lighting that it has. I would have though liked to see an engine or a little bit more blurryness on the train. Keep it up though!

Wonderful shot, Emily. I especially like how the bottom left corner fades to black from the columns.

I agree with Jorgemonkey about more blur on the train. A blurred train against the stoic pillars would be a great contrast. If you happened to get the first locomotive in addition to the blur, I think it would make it even more dramatic with the composition you have chosen.

    Great shot!

As Loupey and Jorgemonkey pointed out, a little more blur on the train and this is not only a good shot but a great shot. The black and white tones here are very strong and the columns seperate and balance this photo perfectly.

Wonderful shot, just have to try the reshoot!:P

Thanks, Jorge, Loupey & Jared for your thoughts on this. I'm hoping to have a chance to try another shot like this soon. My younger daughter adores trains right now, so I might use that as an excuse to go take some shots and entertain her at the same time...hehe.

    Thanks again!

It's a great shot. The composition and exposure hits the spot. Like some have said, a slower shutter would've been nice to increase the motion blur. To me the blur on the train walks a fine line between a blurry picture and a display of motion.

Makes me want to look for trains! Thanks for sharing.
