This is OK, but I think it's potential is limited because the obvious subject of the phone, the barn, is too dark. I really can't see any detail. Great storm clouds, though they're a bit too blue.

Shoot some pix of Wildflecken. I was stationed there in the mid 80s.

    I agree on the clouds.
The focus however is on the post in the foreground.
This leaves most of the shot a bit soft.
What F stop did you use?
    I do like the composition.

It's not that the clouds are dark, it's just that the foreground is over exposed. If you tone down on the exposure for the grassy area to the left, i think it would turn out a lot better. Other than that, love your composition here. Another great photo potential.

The ground looks like a normal, partly cloudy light, but the darkness of the clouds don't match that. As a result, it just looks like a heavy dose of photoshop. The darkness at he top of the skies contrast with the partly-cloudy sky look closer to the horizon, the two tones don't seem o match naturally either. The subject matter seems sort of ordinary too, the trees without leaves are bland.

ok. that's another way of looking at it. But, do you think it will be better lightning the clouds or darkening the foreground to balance this photo? I definitely would like the balance to come from darkening the foreground as it is very light. I think adding light to the clouds will make this photo too bright. When all is darkish, it will add mood to this, imo. But you are right, there is another way of fixing this. fixing the sky to match the foreground. :D

oh btw. i think the light up top on the sky is more natural. kind of a sun-sety cloudy time of day. that was my first thought and perspective on this and hence why i think we've come to two different opinions.
