    Hoo Ahh!!!!!!!!

    I'd say so, Yes!
    Here's why..
The Flag constrasts agains the sky, it makes it stand out more.
The background, while still busy, isn't as busy as the first. The branches kind of frame the Flag, but they seem to distract some.
    Keep At It Lara!

    Cool Wow.......Lara......this is so great!

    Lara,

You did what one of the goals of a photographer should be - get rid of everything in the picture that shouldn't be in the frame. You got rid of those distracting wires, roof, too much "stuff" etc.

Besides the composition, the color is excellent, it's sharp. Way to go!

See - didn't we tell you that you were well on your way of being a photographer?

Welcome to the world of photography!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And, I love the image....being a flag person myself.

The flags colors seem to work alot better. They contrast the green, and look great! Nice shot,

This is much better in every single ways. The background is clean and eyes pleasing, the colors have some punch yet they are natural, the trees actually frame the flag.....

    Nice enhancement!

Re: Somewhat of an improvement don'tcha think?

Thanks everyone! You all made my day. I needed the critique good or bad to know if I have stepped in the right direction. The only thing other than cloning out the wires and a bit of the corner of the house, was to use levels to brighten up the photo a bit. (Thank you Peter for explaining that for me.)

It was really windy and I had to patiently wait for the flag to unfurl.

The top picture is a great picture. I really appreciate a good pic. of "ol glory" I am just getting into taking a lot of pictures with a digital camera. Before, with film I would take only a few, now I can take more. I hope to post a few in the near future.

    Thanks Chunk!
    Sebastian you brat, LOL

Thank you Ryan. I encourage you to start posting when you can. This is a great place to learn. I am camera technically challenged , and have learned so much and gotten a lot of help from this group.
