Sometimes you just feel uncomfortable in your own skin...

I'm really liking this shot. My only thought is it could have used a touch more DOF to have the shedded exoskeleton sharper.

C&C welcome! I've been working on my macro skills most of the summer.

It is a nice shot, though you are correct about the dof. You did get a great capture too. The color makes this shot stand apart and the fact that it is emerging. Did you use a light source other than natural?

All natural light. The light was really nice for this guy, he was just shaded enough from the milkweed leaf to kill the harshness from the sun while still lighting him in a nice, diffused way.

Great shot, your practice is really paying off, the macro photos your are sharing lately are really great

Sometimes increasing the DOF puts you into a very slow shot speed and then induces blurriness, decisions, decisions ....

I wouldn't complain about the DOF, more so of the chopped legs on top

Great, great color. It is out of focus. Otherwise it would be brilliant.
