Some night shots in London
Hi all. This evening I went into London to do some night shots. It has been raining most of the day so the air was lovely and clean. The first shot was taken from a bridge, with Parliament on the right bank and the London Eye (sort of a huge ferris wheel) on the left. It was about a 30 second exposure so the Wheel is blurred. The second shot is the London Eye again, from a different angle. The third was taken in Trafalger Square with the national Christmas tree (donated each year by the people of Norway for British help in WWII). The building on the right is the National Gallery.
As always, any comments are very much appreciated.
Cheers
Mike

The colors, sharpness and clarity on allof these are very good. They are all pleasing to look at. The one critique I have is for the last(bottom image) with the tree. It looks too cluttered, or crowded with the tree, the fountain , the building all overlapping eachother. Still very nice. Good stuff

All of them are beautiful. Nice images. The first one is my favorite. I like the way you framed it and the sky helps make te shot...

Re: Some night shots in London
i love london, to me it would be a great city to photograph, but the last time i was there, i was eleven. great shots, but i agree that the third one would be better without the tree. if you take it from the same location in a month, it will be amazing.

Didache,
#2 is my hands down favorite. All of these are well executed and framed but the colors, scope and framing of #2 make it an especially beautiful composition. Now, did you go up on the LE and take pictures from there too? Seems like that might be an interesting spot to shoot from.

Re: Some night shots in London
Hi guys
Thanks for your comments so far .. I agree, in retrospect, that No 3 is a little cluttered. I will, however, definitely be reshooting the fountain at some point. I attach another image from the same shoot - just the tree and the gallery this time (I quite like the wet ground).
I have been up on the eye several times, but never at night - they don't allow tripods in the capsules sadly!
Cheers
Mike

What good is a tripod if the thing is moving?
