Hello,
I am relatively new to photography and I have been taking some softball pictures with my point and shoot. Yes, I know that is the reason for them being far from perfect, but I don't have $600 right now for an entry-level SLR and I certainly don't have any intention to buy anything with a 70-200 f2.8 zoom lens any time soon.
That said, I am looking to make the best out of what I have. In my case, it's a Sony DSC H3.
It has a "sports" mode, but I tend to use the manual settings with a shutter speed of 1/2000 and an F3.5 setting. It works best in bright sunshine, but it becomes harder when the suns sets or when the clouds come out.
The camera obviously isn't made for fast-moving sports photography, and considering I am only using the images on websites, I'm not too concerned about blowing them up to 12*10 inches. 1/2000 is the maximum setting on the camera. Is there anything else I could do to freeze the action better?
I would be grateful for any advice about anything I might be able to do to make my pictures better though.
Thanks,
Ash
