    Serenity now

This is a very nice place, referred to by the locals as "Paradise"... it is deep along the path of the river, heading upstream. I still have not done a photo trip there. this shot was taken during a hike i went on to determine if I can handle the camera over the terrain...

I will be heading there next summer for a full shoot!

    Comments please ?!

Overall the composition is pretty good but a little static. I'd try several compositions to get a less balanced image.

I also think the overall shot is too green and it sure would be neat if the water was calm.

Does look like a good place for some quiet/calm images.
    No, I DON'T need that.

    Re: Serenity now

MB, thanks for taking the time... I have attempted to fix the green, and have posted 2 other shots I have taken... there is one shot i need to find again, which had a lady friend sitting on the rock, looking at the dripping water....

The calm would have been nice, except the water was too freezing, I couldn't wait for it calm down...

I need the comments, to keep in mind for next time I go for a dedicated shoot... It is a wonderful place indeed, and I will be sure to post the series once it's done!

MarkusK, I like them all but the last one maybe to centered. They all create a nice peaceful mood. The green I felt in the first one was fine. If you want the water more calm looking you might try a long exposure, maybe it will take on a milky, glass look? Could be worth a try, but I have no issues with it as is. Glad to see you back around and posting again.

I love the last photo. It seems to have that little bit more to it. I think it's the water

Greg, you're right, looking at it now, i do see it too centered even for my own liking... the problem with long exposure for this shot, is that I am IN the water.... the only thing I can do next time, is take that old tripod of mine, and place it in the water... long exposure is good, i didn't think of it here... thanks.... oh and it's great to be back... had a lot of life decisions to make...

Danic, thank you for your comment

    Re: Serenity now

3rd picture is perfect, in the first photo I was unsure of what I was looking at, the 2nd seems too cold with some haze in the air, but the third looks nice warmed up showing the light especially

    Re: Serenity now

Yes the third one is the best imo also because the water is so apparently clear one can see through it. That and it's the widest of angles you've got going. So for me the 3rd wins also and i like the light sneaking in from the top right and not overtaking the whole picture. As far as improvements, i don't really know. maybe a subject where the light is falling? or something like that. that would give it another dimension and they'll surely be well lit.

Kajuha, Leels - Thank you both for your comments... it will be crucial for the re-shoot.

Leels, next time around, I definitely hope I can get someone(s) with me up there specifically for the shoot... specially that the human element in this shot at least, was awesome... I said I will post it and haven't gotten around to it...

Well, in any case, I have a new hike coming up tomorrow, so we'll see about those too...

Thanks again for everyone that has taken the time!
