A grab shot of a Buddhist monk hanging over the railing of a temple in Luang Prabang Northern Laos..I like his weather beaten face..In Laos the monks are very laid back..The young monks like to stop tourists in the street to engage in conversation to improve their English..

Hi Jurgen,
I like the skin creases of the monk and his very natural gesture . The eyes seems a bit blurred to me. The background on the left indicates that he is in a monastery. I just wonder what the shot would be if the shot were taken at a larger aperture. Thanks for sharing.

It was shot at maximum aperture (wide open)..It was the end of the rainy season, overcast and late in the afternoon..

Not as good as your child pic IMO but I still like this. The skin exposed adds a great sense of texture and contrast to the orange. The shot does seem a bit soft however, though that might be due to the compression.

Nice shot, not my favourite, but it works.
