    Raindrops on the lake

I was taking pictures at a pond near where I live, and it started raining.

I like the ones on your blog better, you've got in closer, more on the scale of raindrops.

I see your hummingbird moths are clearwings, ours are hawk moths, but look pretty similar.
There was an outbreak of them in Germany near our office a couple of years ago, until then I'd only seen two in my life, and I saw a dozen in an evening !

    Re: Raindrops on the lake

Hey Paul...thanks for commenting. I like the closer up raindrops as well, but I feel like they're not as clear as they should be...so I didn't want to post them...heh.
And yes! Those are clearwing moths...I was very startled by them the other day. I thought at first that they were hummingbirds, and then got a closer look. I couldn't believe how strange they are...like little colorful crawfish with wings...hehe.
    But thanks again!

    Hello Emily,

I like your idea but I don't think that the upper part of the picture actually adds to the scene. I would see this one as a panoramic with more focus on the drops. A b&w might possibly work here too.

    regards
