I like these shots, however, firstly i must say that they appear to be washed out, perhaps darken and bump up the contrast. I feel the first is a little lost in the big white square, perhaps cropping it down to just have white in the background. The last three are framed really well, just play with desity and contrast and you will have some cracking photos i think! but its just my opinion, sometimes (quite often) it doesnt account for much!

Jezz, thanks, the conversion to BW was more like Infrarad rather than just BW. this is what is giving it is washed out look. that is what I can't decide if I like or not! I think you are right about the 1st one with the tractor being lost. Maybe I will bring the color back to the tractor only......

    Thanks!

Nice work. These take me back to my childhood. I like the frame within a frame feeling of the first shot.
How did you do the B/W conversion? I split your color shot to RGB channels and liked the blue channel. Using that or the channel mixer may give some different, less washed out lookin results. Is there any detail at all in the white rectangle in the front of the barn on the original? If there is you want to retain as much as you can. If not, you want to expose to not wash out that much of your shot.

I like 'em. At least I can't get stuck behind this tractor doing 5mph on a country lane with no passing places! This one ain't going anywhere!

chunk, thanks for looking at these. I used a modified action from hodgy's collection called infuh rad. I think I will go back and do a "normal" conversion to compare. The wall is actually cinderblock and has all the detail in it - I just blew it out with the action. will repost keepin these suggestions in mind!

    thanks again for the input!
