Sheriff's Bed and Breakfast

We finally had a sunny day on the weekend and I got the chance to play with a couple of new filters. On this particular photo I had stacked the polarization filter along with the graduated ND filter, and it nearly turned the sky black. A wee bit too much, but I liked the effect.
Does anyone have any suggestions for color filters that would really make these old structures "pop" more. I've seen some really rich-looking photos of some old barns and such, but am a little perplexed as to how to achieve the desired effect.

This makes an interesting photo. I love the solitude that it conveys. However, I think the shack is a little to centered in the photo and could possibly be pushed a little to the right to fill that empty space and then leave more space on the left.

What ever you have done with all the filters the end result is excellent and the little building is spot on. I really like the goalpost thingy to the left which contrasts with the sky beautifully. Being able to see through the window to the other side is great.

I'm curious though, did the building not have walls on the other side. Looking through the window I could see the background clearly. That gives it another nice effect IMO.

The see-through window is actually a open doorway. I've attached a shot of the front of it for you to see. The goal-post thingy is actually a hangman's gallow. It's not original, though. Somebody built it for whatever reason. Not a lot to do in the desert, I guess. It's probably 20 years old.
I had a difficult time trying to determine the composition, and was worried about making the building dead center. Too far to the right and I get power lines (the 100 foot tall scaffolding ones), too far to the left and there's more powerlines plus some distant structures.
I've attached the original to this, and you can see that I left my #@!%$! camera bag laying there like an idiot. The only adjusting I did was a little color contrast.
It would be great if that stupid hangman thing wasn't there and I could isolate the building better... but I guess that's what eventually makes you a good photographer... solving problems like this.
I'm going to head out there again tomorrow and re-shoot it. I added one more shot that has everything on the left side. I'd like to know what you all think of that compared to the first. I'm open to suggestions as to how to composite this better.

I think I would put the 'camera bag' shot in joint first place with the original post. Both excellent.

I like this shot. I might consider cropping just slightly closer inward, but not too much! As far as popping goes, have you looked at mpix.com for printing? I've had a few of my photos (Newport Bridge, for one) printed on their Kodak Metallic paper and I think the results are incredible. The colors really do seem to come to life on that metallic paper.

I don't think that the sky is too dark at all in this photo.
