    Self portrait, expressionless

I had an assignment for a class, to photograph a person "doing what they do", one of the three was to be a self portrait, so I got myself with a camera. Here are a couple of my favorites, I am not good at faking a smile, so I shot for a completely blank expression. How does the images work for you? Does the lack of expression empty the substance of the image? Any other critiques or ideas? I've also included a plain self portrait, as I think they work as a series considering how similar they all are. Thanks for your input!

*edit - and yes I am aware I need a hair cut. Please excuse the excessive amount of hair.

I think the composition is best on the first one, although my opinion is it would be a bit better with all the camera in the frame. Expression on the last one is good, but the composition isn't as interesting.

    Thanks daq.

I'm also contemplating the crop, I could leave my whole head in, crop right above hair line, or right below it, so this one here is sort of the middle of the two.

The 2nd one is my favourite out of the 3. Very nice composition and black & white treatment there.
