To critique, I'd have to say your eyes are soft, but to be fair, I have one hell of a time getting mine to be tack sharp whenever I play with self portraits too.
mostly Nikon gear
Feel free to edit my images for critique, just let me know what you did.
Not bad, really. I do like the light on the face and the framing here, but yes the eyes are not quite as sharp I'd like to see.
I'm not quite getting the pose though. It almost looks like your gesturing to someone that your gonna call them or to call you. . although I don't feel that was your intention.
Very nice self p!
Good use of B&W
I like the use of negative space on the top
Maybe crop it a bit to a more square format
I also struggle if I want to use a shallow DOF on a SP, I use liveview and a mirror for compositions, but then my arm usually is not long enough to press the shooter , so I use the timer + manual focus and guess at the right distance
As a personal preference , it'll be probably better without the finger on your lips
i know the pose is awkward but O_o my girl actually called me and she sat in front of me. I didn't mean to pose like that but its my thing whilst reading a book, so basically my girl called me and myself was busy reading a book.
I agree the eyes aren't that sharp but seems pretty cool still since I can see the reflection of the table o_o.
also the image was taken vertically.
