    Taken on an overcast day with a Nikon D60 - 55-200mm. Thank you for your critiques.

    My problem is that you have the body of the bird pretty much in the center of the frame. I think it would be much stronger if you had more space in front of the bird and less space behind it.

    The cropped off wings and the overall blue cast seem to work for me here.
    No, I DON'T need that.

    The rule of thirds wasn't working for me on this one because of the boring sky. Here is your suggestion though, any better?
