i get your message on this photo you have it set up good and your idea is there,my problem is not enough light on the berry, just way too dark,needs alittle more fill flash on the berry ,to enhance your subject alot more, when i first look at it my eyes did not go straight to it,then question myself wether or not it was a bird or berry.

I agree it's nice but needs a bit of something, either perhaps? another element in the foreground or nice lighting or illumination probably the best. I wonder as is if a slight crop on the right or elsewhere would help it looks a hair too bulls eyeish to me.

Yes, if the berry was better illuminated I think it would work. Even if you have to artificially illum the puppy......

Aside from the lighting problem that the others have noted I think the berry is in the wrong part of the frame.

You have placed it in about the vertical center of the frame where the rule of thirds would have it a bit lower or higher, I vote for higher.......
