the colors and clarity of the photo and the composition are all quite nice....

beautiful light you chose to shoot in...:)

tiny nitpik-- the vertical lines ( on the building are slanted are so are the mast on the boats---it's probably my own neurosis :D )

but with just a slight rotation and crop it can take out those tiny distarctions

again beautiful feel to this shot

    Hello Again John

    Love the colour here.
I'm just waiting to see the rest of the photograph???
It looks as though you could have used a wider angle lens here.
The sterns of the boats are cut off.
    The masts are cut off.
I'm real curious as to whats on the left side of the golden buildings.
Did the buildings end there or did you truncate them because the frame was full.
    You've peaked my curiousity.
I feel that you forgot to include the other half or two-thirds of your panorama.

Here is the uncropped image. I didn't like the pier thingie in the left foreground and so I cropped. What do you think?

Beautiful shot. Can't think of any way to make it better, and I like the uncropped shot more. I also live in SD and have been trying to make shots like this with the boats and city backdrop for quite awhile - with very mixed results. This shot's inspiring!

Here's a night shot down next to the airport. I like it but I didn't use a deep enough DOF, so the buildings aren't as sharp as they should be. (The scan also leaves a lot to be desired.)

    Good Morning John

Not sure, I may have been tempted to leave the pier thingie in!!!
A wider lens would have been a big help, in this case.
    Great light and potential.
I hope you can get back to it again!!!

    Busy?
It seems awfully busy to me. You have the lines from the rigging of the boats, the buildings and their reflections, and the ripples in the water.
The quality of the light is awesome though! I can see why you took the photo.
It kind of seems like you have two different photographs in one, the building and the boats.
Maybe if you had made two separate photographs of each subject you would have had two good photos instead of one busy one.
    Just my thoughts.

Nice shot. You Left Coasters may take exception to this, but it's been said that Miami and San Diego are very similar cities visually. Throw in the nice weather and Hispanic influence, and why, they're practically twins... :D

Well ok, San Diego probably doesn't have as many raving lunatics driving around shooting guns (uh Penny and Gene just ignore this, heh heh), and maybe just a tad fewer obnoxious New Yorkers there (I can say this, I'm one of them), but still, many pics I've seen of SD remind me of South Florida...
