    Mazda Speedway

The weather was rather bleak today when I went to take some pics of the Mazda speedway event. I think tomorrow I'm going to participate instead of taking pics. *smiles*
All comments are welcome, this was cropped to take out some of the space around the car and then photoshopped to make the colors stand out a bit more.

    Hey Young Shooter,

Thanks for commenting and I'm sorry that the pics look too dark... I always have this problem and I have tried to correct for it, but I think the problem is monitor difference... I use a mac and I bet most everyone else has a windows machine...
As far as having a car peel out... well, first it was raining, not too much excitement there and second, that really isn't encouraged... the point here is to get around the track as quickly and skillfully as possible... The runs are timed. *smiles* thanks again for taking the time to comment

    Hello Darkrainfall,

For what it's worth, I like both the first and third one (and I like Mazda's too but that's off topic). To be more specific, I enjoy the way you have captured the movement effect on the first picture with water splashing arround and I like the racing feel of the third picture.

I am not sure if I would call your pictures dark. To my humble opinion, i think that the "problem" simply is the weather. Colors can hardly be bright and lively when it is that overcast.

I use a Mac myself as my personal computer and I work on PC's on a daily basis. Mac monitors tend to be especially bright (yet contrasty). I am not sure to witch extend this may affect the way most PC's users perceive your pictures but it may explain some things.

    best regards

    Seb

    Hey Darkrainfall,
I also like the 1st and 3rd the best. Not much more to add as I would agree that the weather was your only hinderance here. And even so, those two did come out quite nice.
please do not edit and repost my photos

    Hi,
I like the third shoy the most. Good composition. By the way, how did you prevent the camera from wetting?

    Seb,
Thanks for posting, and I think you are correct, the weather really made it hard to shoot this event. The pics were worse before I photoshopped. I'm a big fan of mazda, the miata in particular... I was thinking of selling my celica in trade of a miata, but somehow was talked out of it... *smile*

    Gary,
Thanks for commenting... I guess I haven't figured out how to control the weather... yet...

    Yoyo,
Well... as I am rather used to drawing lots of attention to myself and my equipment and have no qualms about being considered strange I simply take a towel and drap it over my equipment, or in this case a sweatshirt. If it starts raining a lot, then I take cover, but I figure a little rain won't kill me or my equipment. And of course when I am finished I always check over my equipment and am sure to dry up any rain that did make it onto my camera. Oh and to keep rain off the lens, I just use the hood...

    *smile*
