Rope Swing

Found this hanging from a tree near an overgrown pond.

Thoughts from a newbie, color is great but for some reason my eyes are drawn to the pond itself, I have to force myself to look at the rope, mabye a little further back?

I have to agree with Ozbuc. First impression was the rope was one of the plants.
The reeds in front block the main subject and dof doesn't let it stand out from surroundings.

PC, would it be possible to vary the viewpoint? Maybe get lower and look up at the rope? Maybe from a different side? The bg is really busy. JMHO.

I agree with the previous comments, and wanted to add that this looks sinister to me for some reason also...which may be something you saw in this as well. Just interesting to me. Maybe it's the murkiness of the pond in the bg.

I like the picture in general. The rope is in good focus, but the overall picture makes me think about the water. I would like it better if a better view of the water was shown. It would make one think about children grabbing the rope and jumping in the lake. The rope should be a small but important detail in the picture, not the main focus of it.

Thanks for all the many responses. I was trying to capture the disconnect between the rope and the murky water. Who in their right mind would actually swing on this rope into that water? I'll have to see if I can find a better viewpoint that demonstrates this better.
