    Errr...sir, I think I would be able to see the texture better if only it had a bit more light on them.

    Come to think of it, most of the time in the past I also found your posted photos dark. May be it's just my monitor, and the actual print doesn't look that way.

    It looks fine on my monitor. Any brighter and the sticks would have blown out and lost detail. I agree and see detail in all parts of the print. Am I right that this is a scan of a print? True Blacks and true whites. Just as would be expected.

    Sounds like it's right on your monitor Greg. The sticks are borderline blowout. The only part of the print/scan that starts to loose detail for me in the shadows is the upper edge and corners. Partly due to a shadow that fell there and vignetting I added in the corners.
